Walk on Wheel- the unconventional commute
While doing my bachelor’s from DOW-Ojha, me and my friends used to have a wish. A wish to bring a bicycle to university so that we can roam around the campus easily. In Karachi, there are alot of universities that cover a huge land area. In the majority of universities, the shuttle service is either unavailable or lacks to cater to students. Especially in hot weather, the trip between the departments or to the cafeteria became exhausting. These trips really drain your energy and then almost all the students in their afternoon classes feel tired.
In Lahore, students faced the same issue and they came up with the idea of renting a bicycle through their smartphones, and students of Karachi wished that they will also launch it in Karachi. After a wait of 4 long years but nobody initiated it.
Amal is giving me a chance to pitch an idea to solve the problems. I think I went through it, I know the pain, the majority of us can relate to it. So, I want to bring this idea to the universities of Karachi, for example, DOW ojha campus, NED University, Karachi University, Aga Khan University, Hamdard University, Baqai University, etc etc.
A walk-on-wheel mobile application that can help you to book a bi-cycle by scanning its QR code to roam around campus. In which you can monthly/weekly/daily pay the rent for the duration you kept the bicycle. This will not only save student’s time and energy but will also motivate them towards physical activity.
